He spent five years with Advanced Visual Systems working on cutting-edge Java and visual programming projects. Christopher M.L.S. Bouton, Ph.D. is Head of Integrative Data Mining at the Pfizer Research Technology Center in Cambridge, MA and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Bioinformatics Graduate Program, Boston University. Trained as a molecular biologist with over a decade of experience in the laboratory, he is now a computational biologist leading a team of Ph.D. level scientists in the areas of systems biology, knowledge engineering, software development, machine learning, data mining and large-scale 'omics data analysis. Prior to IDC, Rachel was the Director of Product Management at Bitpass where she worked with media and publishing companies such as Disney, United Media, CanWest, and Ziff Davis to monetize their digital assets as well as with MSN and ninemsn to develop a digital rewards and purchasing infrastructure. While at Bitpass, Rachel was instrumental in developing Mperia, an internet music site. Her experience is chronicled in the book, The Future of the Music Business, in an interview that discusses changes in the music business brought about by internet technologies. Prior to Bitpass, Rachel was the Product Marketing Manager for IDe, an enterprise software company that developed applications to manage the new product development process. Rachel started her business career at PRTM as a Business Analyst focused on helping technology companies understand and improve their product development operations. Andrew McAfee joined the faculty of the Technology and Operations Management Unit at Harvard Business School in 1998. His research investigates how managers can most effectively select, implement, and use Information Technology (IT) to achieve business goals. He was the recipient of a US Department of Energy Integrated Manufacturing Fellowship for his doctoral research, which focused on the performance impact of enterprise information technologies such as SAP's R/3. His current research falls into three categories. The first is an exploration of how Web 2.0 technologies can be used within the enterprise, and what their impact is likely to be. The second is an exploration of when IT leads to increased use of market mechanisms for coordinating activity, and when it instead leads to greater use of hierarchies. Dee Stribling has over 30 years of experience in information technology development and research.
